by James Abro
In this last installment of Mr. James Abro's series on life in America from the end of the 60s to the present, the characters from his previous novels unite in a confrontation with the latest U.S. Federal law enforcement agency, the Department of Internal security services (DISS). When DISS discovers that Bruce Bonwil wrote the previous novels in this series, and that the novels have now taken on a cult following of activists, DISS decides that in order to save the Republic they must stop Bruce from finishing
NEW MILLENNIUM JITTERS. Bruce Bonwil then employs the services of a MIT prodigy to hack into the DISS's computers. DISS’s activities then become events in the novel
NEW MILLENNIUM JITTERS -- thus showing to the world the corrupt, undemocratic, and unconstitutional actions of America's domestic surveillance enterprise. In the final scene of this novel, renegade DISS operatives eliminate Bruce. His violent death thus becomes a metaphor for the painful rebirth of freedom and liberty in America. The result is a tour de force of madcap art imitating life, and vice versa.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: In the final novel in his series, when the author of the novels becomes the protaganist (and prey) of the stories, Mr. James Abro shares his fantasy with readers that with a little insight, innovation and creativity we can each affect the world we live in. Mr. Abro combines his work as a writer (New York Newspaper Guild and Harlem Writers Crew) with his experience as an antiwar activist to create an end to this series that is as sadly poignant as it is darkly humorous.
